Attorney
Ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of litigation experience and be comfortable
with trial and pre-trial litigation. Prior foreclosure and/or bankruptcy experience,
or insurance defense experience is preferred, but not required.
Candidate must have strong writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, interpersonal
skills, and the willingness to work hard in a fast paced environment. Must also
have a positive attitude and demonstrated problem solving skills.
We currently have an Associate Attorney position open in our Indianapolis office
Law Clerk
Responsibilities include:
• Research contested, extraordinary and pending foreclosure case issues, and
draft pleadings on the findings.
• Draft legal proceedings for pending foreclosures, summary judgments, responses
to motions, discovery responses, and other documents for which there are no standard
merge templates available.
• Brief clients on contested and extraordinary case issues, update client systems.
• Assist attorneys as requested.
Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven, client-service
environment.
• Possess a Bachelor's degree and currently enrolled and attending law school.
• Organized, thorough and able to work independently.
• Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and internet research on Westlaw, Lexis
Nexis and other related sites is required.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Legal Assistant Internship
Responsibilities include:
• Open and process mail. Code all documents for scanning and linking to the
appropriate case.
• Check case management software to-do listings daily and assume responsibility
for tasks within scope of responsibility and skills.
• Communicate with clients as needed for obtaining information.
• Update client database systems throughout the day as tasks are processed.
• Enter new cases into case management software.
• Process basic merged documents for review and approval by more senior staff.
• Actively work to become familiar with the entire life-cycle for all processes
performed by Manley Deas Kochalski.
Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post baccalaureate program.
• Strong computer skills and excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a must.
• Must be able to work part-time (20+ hours per week).
We currently have multiple openings for a Legal Assistant Internship in our Columbus office.
Legal Assistant / Paralegal
Responsibilities include:
• Check case management software to-do listings daily and assume responsibility
for tasks.
• Update client database systems throughout the day as tasks are processed
Prepare legal documents for attorneys.
• Responsible for independently following-up on client communications as is
necessary.
• Responsible for completing assigned weekly team tasks with accuracy and timeliness
Other administrative support as required.
Qualifications:
• Posses a Bachelor's degree.
• Strong computer skills and excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a must.
• Previous experience in the mortgage servicing industry is a plus.
