Legislation Affecting LGBTQ+ Rights Across the Country

Monday’s landmark Supreme Court ruling extended federal employment protections to millions of gay and transgender workers. The decision is a major victory for LGBTQ+ civil rights.

However, there is still much work to be done. The ACLU maintains a list of current state-level legal matters affecting the LGBTQ+ community. Ranging from healthcare to athletics, adoption to identification documents, nondiscrimination measures continue to be fought for in the courts.

Of special note are the six states MDK practices in:  Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. All told, there are 14 pending anti-equality bills and 4 pro-equality. MDK stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and supports the work, and the road to justice, ahead.
