Brian Deas is a founder and principal of Manley Deas Kochalski, LLC and its related companies. Brian devotes much of his time to MDK's innovative technology initiatives, including the firm’s proprietary technology platform, automation and email filtering tools, and an online auction system. To support and maintain the firm’s reputation for setting the standard in compliance, Brian serves as MDK’s general counsel, working hand in hand with its compliance department and operational management to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met in every jurisdiction and on every case. Embracing both technology and business process are hallmarks of Brian’s practice.

After earning his undergraduate degree from Miami University, Brian worked as a certified public accountant at a Big Four accounting firm. Brian began his legal career as a judicial clerk with Justice J. Craig Wright of the Supreme Court of Ohio and later, with the Honorable John D. Holschuh of the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio. He next practiced securities and business law as an associate with a large, national law firm.

In 2017, Brian received the William G. Hoddup Distinguished Service Award from the Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association for his work on Ohio’s foreclosure reform statute. In light of his thoughtful contributions, the OMBA recently appointed Brian to its Legislative Committee. In this role, Brian provides input on proposed and pending legislation.
