Shawn Taylor is the Practice Group Director for Florida. In his role as director, Shawn is the subject matter expert on Florida law. Shawn’s litigation expertise has been the foundation of his residential practice. He advises clients on a variety of mortgage banking matters across Florida, with a particular focus on judicial and non-judicial foreclosure processes.
Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Florida in 2007. Next, he received his Master of Science in Management from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida in 2008. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 2012. Shawn's educational accolades include Legal Research and Writing Honors, Trial Practice Honors, Florida Bright Future’s Recipient (2004-2007) and President's Dean List. In addition, Shawn received a pro bono certificate.
Prior to joining MDK Shawn gained experience as a litigator, appellate advocate and senior counsel at boutique law firms specializing in Florida residential mortgage foreclosures. Shawn has represented and defended mortgage lenders and servicers in various contested foreclosure proceedings, mediations, trials, and appellate actions throughout Florida.
