Stephen Franks is a senior attorney at MDK's Cleveland office, focusing his practice on representing automobile and mortgage lenders in bankruptcy proceedings. He has over 13 years’ experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies, along with extensive experience handling litigated matters in bankruptcy adversary proceedings. Steve is a contributor to the MDK Quarterly, a publication that highlights insights and opinions into legal issues. For his contributions to the legal field, Steve has been awarded Best Lawyers in America designation by U.S. News and World Report in the areas of bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights as well as insolvency and reorganization law.

Steve is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky state courts; as well as the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is active in the community and serves as a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Lyndhurst and serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors of the Taleris Credit Union. Steve is also a member of both the Ohio State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
